Special Programs

I always enjoy collaborating, so if you don't see a program that's just right for you, we can work together to dream up something new. For example, I worked with Cohoes High School art teachers to develop a special silk painting/social studies program. Using photos of historic architecture in the City of Cohoes, each of the 9th grade students made line drawings of architectural motifs. I then taught them how to paint on silk and they used their drawings as the basis for their silk paintings. The paintings were sewn together to create wall hangings that are on permanent display outside of the school gym.

The Berlin Central School PTO wanted to decorate the plain walls of their cafeteria with fruit and vegetable motifs. I made 2½ foot tall stencils, the children painted in the motifs with depth and detail and the PTO members made the paintings into wall hangings. The students now enjoy their art as they eat lunch.
